This webpage is devoted to the Franco-British «alliance» workshop and to the Conference in honour of Jacques Alev on the occasion of his sixtieth birthday. The aim of the conference of the 28-th and 29-th of November is to express our gratitude to Professeur Jacques Alev, head of the research team «Équations aux Dérivées Partielles et Physique Mathématique», FRE CNRS 3111 of the University of Reims, for his mathematical work and the influence he has had in his field, in France and beyond. It will be twinned with a Franco-British workshop, organised on the 27-th of november within the framework of an "alliance" grant from the Ministère des affaires étrangères and the British Council, which will underline the strong scientific collaboration, lead on the French side by Jacques Alev and his students, between the algebraists of the Universities of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Canterbury in the U.K., and the Universities of Clermont-Ferrand, Saint-Etienne and Reims in France. This meeting is organised with the support of the GDR 2432 «Algèbre non commutative et théorie des invariants en théorie des représentations», the Franco-British network «Representation Theory Across the Channel», the City of Reims and the Région Champagne-Ardenne.
